Bray Lake Winter Ice Breaker Series 2020 - The virtual ones!

As restrictions remain in place and with the understandable caution expressed by some of our paddlers, we have decided to allow virtual entry to our Winter Ice Breaker Series or 2020. This is so we can ensure the series is still open to all in the safest manner possible. 

Each virtual race will be the same distance as the physical event held at Bray Lake Watersports. To compete, you must complete the full course distance, log your time and submit your result within the 4-day event window.

Before registering, you will need to complete a 2km time trial to set your race division. You must use the board you intend to race on and complete the series.  Once you have your time, email us on info@haywoodsports.com with the gpx. file from your GPS tracking devise or picture of the log.

If you have completed the 2km time trial in the past year, your time and division are still valid if you are using the same board. 

The divisions are:

Division 1 – 13:29 and under 

Division 2 – 13:30 – 14:59 

Division 3 – 15:00 – 16:29 

Division 4 – 16:30 – 17:59 

Division 5 – 18:00 and over

We know some of you will approach it with a little apprehension at first, so we will also run regular coaching sessions through the season. There will be a mix of event types to cater for all from complete beginners, novices and the more experienced paddler. Whilst you can enter only one event if you wish, to get a series finish you will need to complete 3 out of 5 races and must race on the same board throughout the series.
